Skarvi Wins on his Birthday

The final feature of the evening would be the Chet’s Auto Service / Economy Print and Graphics Sportsmen, taking on the 3/8s (.375) mile high banked oval for 25-laps. 2009 Pure Stocks Track Champion Jimmy Stratton would lead the field to the green, but it would be Travis Skarvi holding the point the next time around. Skarvi would set a torrid pace in the caution free event, and in the end no one had time to make a charge at the Durand, Michigan driver as he took his first career feature win on his 17th birthday, becoming the first person not named Chris Begg to win a Sportsmen feature this season. Begg would wind up in the second spot with Vinnie Miller, Jeff Warren and Ed Newman Jr. completing the top five. Heat wins went to Eric Olsen and Ed Newman Jr. and Skarvi would be fast qualifier with a 17.143.
