Andrew Shelters is a newer driver within motorsports. He is a Purestock driver from Vassar, MI and has only been racing cars for 3 years. He is a part of Adam Rowe's race team and sports the #0 as well. Andy spent roughly 8 years racing go-karts with his daughter Raven Shelters and naturally made the switch to short track, asphalt racing. While he may not have 30 years of experience under his belt like some other racers, his background in kart racing has given him a great leg up in the Purestock division. A couple of big accomplishments for Andy were getting a third place finish last year and putting his Purestock into the B Main during an ABC race, competing against other Purestocks and Street Stocks. For him, that is what racing is all about - the competition and the drive to continually get better. It's constantly wrenching on your car, even after a loss. You just have to keep working and continue learning from everything that happens out on the track. Even during the off-season, Andy is constantly working on cars, whether that is at work in the Cook's Chevrolet body shop or at home on the race cars. With the exception of snowmobiling when he can. He always looks forward to race season and all of the different tracks he gets to experience. When asked what his favorite track is out of all that he has traveled to, he had a very hard time deciding, but was able to narrow it down to two. He said that Corrigan Oil Speedway is an extremely fun track to race at, and Owosso Speedway is the second because of its size and he always looks forward to the multiple groove racing. Andy has always had a ton of support from his daughter Raven, wife Nicole, and his sponsors (Whitney Insurance, Troyer Racing Engines, Twisted Graphics, Roads and Johnson, Sledge Heads of Frederick, and Delta Paving) as well as an amazing race crew including Adam Rowe, Renee Rowe, Nate Rowe, Matt Troyer, Kevin Troyer, and Lloyd Troyer. While Andy Shelters may not have anything new up his sleeve for the 2023 season, we look forward to seeing him race at Owosso Speedway!
