Matt Mueller is a newcomer to our side of the racing community from Auburn, Michigan. He has been racing for a total of two years now, competing in the Street Stock, Modified, and Late Model divisions as #5. He has raced Sportsman's a little bit in the past, but he has stepped away from it for now. It's no surprise that Matt got into short-track, oval, asphalt racing, as his family has been involved in motorsports since the late 1960s. Matt and his dad have been more involved in the drag racing community and have two drag cars that they race together, so it makes sense that he wants to expand his skills and do a bit of it all! His dad has been a big part of his immersion into motorsports and now takes the lead as Matt's race crew. Matt is very focused on going out and having fun on race nights. He simply enjoys racing and the competition, as well as the consistent need to work on motors. Matt has had his fair share of experiencing many different tracks within racing, however Owosso Speedway would have to be his favorite. He said that it is a bit of a difficult track to run, but it is really fun due to the layout and the high banking, which still remains after the new re-pave. For the 2023 season, Matt plans on getting back out to Owosso Speedway to continue running at his favorite track in his Street Stock and to possibly get into a Super Late Model. He is extremely excited to experience the "new" Owosso Speedway under the new management and all of the great improvements that have been made, with the help from his sponsors, Mueller Auto and Perkin's Earthworks. It is great to have such a diversified racer join our little part in the racing community, and love it just as much as we all do!
