Kyle Hayden is one of our local drivers who helps make our race seasons happen. He is a Modified driver from Clio, MI and has been in motorsports for 20 years. He has made the best out of his racing career so far and has raced in many classes besides Modifieds, including Trucks, Street Stocks, and Pro Late Models. He is also quite good at it all and has many accomplishments to speak for his driving skills. He has won a CRA Allstars race in 2017 and the 2020 Modified Nationals, and a total of four championships, including a Modified championship in 2019, a Late Model championship in 2010, a Sportsman championship in 2007, and a Truck championship in 2004. He has a great track record so far and is not done yet.

Kyle has also grown up in a lifelong motorsports family. His dad raced for 25 years, along with his uncles, and his parents even met at a race track and built their relationship from there. The part of racing that drives him the most is the feeling he gets before he goes out onto the track. All of those nerves that build up beforehand are like "no other feeling" and it is his favorite part of race nights. While those nerves aren't always a sign that the night is going to end great, Kyle knows that no matter what, you will always lose more races than you win. He has learned not to complain about the things that are out of his control and to always put in the hard work to get better. A lot of that has stemmed from his dad and uncles who have always appreciated racing for what it is and have passed that onto him in turn.

He has traveled to plenty of different tracks, however, his favorite would have to be Toledo Speedway. Kyle said that it is the fastest track he has ever been able to experience and he had a pretty good run, too. He has some great family members who are huge supporters during the race season and during the off-season. His dad (Kenny), his mom (Beth), his wife (Jamie), his daughter (Macie), his uncles, and many others are always there to support Kyle through whatever avenue he decides to venture down. He has a great race crew that helps him get through every race night made up of Rick Wiecorek, Tedd Johnson, Robbie Johnson, Mike Ebner, Dave Collison, John Hopkins, and Josh Hahn. They have always been a big help and Kyle couldn't be any more grateful for them. Let alone Rick Wiecorek racing, which helps him keep up on all of his motorsports adventures.

Kyle is ready to get into the 2023 season and plans on racing as much as possible! He is also excited to get back to Owosso Speedway! He said that Rex Wheeler is putting in so much time and money that the track well deserves for improvements, but he is especially ready to see the new grandstands start being built in 2024! It is no secret that we are all thankful for all of the great happenings at Owosso Speedway, and in 3 short months, we will all be back to doing what we love in such an exciting and historic environment.
