Jason Jones is a talented driver in the Front Wheel Drive division from Hale, MI. He has raced for eight seasons, mostly as #11J. He raced four-cylinder cars on dirt but prefers short-track, oval asphalt racing. He has a long list of accomplishments including a championship in 2021, Rookie of the Year in 2015, and finishing in the top 5 in the Rev X in 2022. He has also won six features at five different tracks and set five new track records in 2022. All at the same time!
Jason runs as #11J because he plans to defend Eric Valent's early 2000's championship at Owosso Speedway using his old number. Eric has been his racing idol for years and Jason learned a lot from him as his crew chief in Mini Stocks. Jason got started in motorsports after his side-by-side blew up before Memorial Day in 2015. He bought a beater car from a friend, after that, and has been racing ever since. He is "competitive as hell" and always does his homework to prevent any future mistakes.
Jason has traveled to many different tracks as part of traveling series and his favorite track to race at is Onaway Speedway, which he says requires good driving skills to win. He said that it has a very tight back stretch and corners, so if you can’t drive, then you can’t win. For Jason, there is a thrill in knowing one fraction of a mistake can cost you the entire race. During the off-season, he works hard as a tech salesman to afford this expensive hobby we all love so much. In 2023, Jason will race under a new team name, "Racing for Angels", with support from his family Savanna, Lucas, JJ, Maci, and Maddie. As well as his sponsors; US Speedo FLint, MI, Everything Speedometer, Dixie Wear, Atomic Apparel and Design, Performance Auto, Muffler Man of Pearson Road, Bonafide Customs, Image Tech, and Pooh’s Place Daycare Group.During race nights, he is a one-man band, except for tour days when he travels with Kevin Powell. Jason is counting down the days until the start of the 2023 season, where he will try to break the track record on the new race surface at Owosso Speedway!
