Moving on with yet another Front-Wheel Drive racer is Dylan Spencer. He is a young driver learning to handle the ropes in Perry, Michigan. Dylan has only been racing in the FWD division as number S16 for three years now, but already has a 2021 championship and a track record under his belt! Before Dylan started racing, he was always at the race tracks, watching his dad race in the Purestock and Limited Late Model divisions. Eventually, he decided to jump in and try his hand at it too. Since he grew up right by his dad's side in motorsports, he looks up to him. His dad had the drive and motivation to continually get better with each race and wanted to be as fast as he could be. Now, Dylan is doing everything he can to build a great racing career, following in his father's footsteps. So far, he absolutely loves it! He likes the quality time with his family while they all enjoy the sport together and make memories that will last a lifetime.
We all know race nights aren't always a piece of cake, though. Sometimes, Dylan has a rough night and takes a hard loss. It is disappointing to him for a while until he can move on and get ready for the next race. Racing is something he works hard at, so the natural disappointment after losing a race he thought he would win is understandable.
Dylan's favorite track to race at is Birch Run Speedway because he feels that it is "driver-attributed" and requires more skill from the driver, versus the race car itself. However, he is ready to get out to Owosso Speedway to race on the new surface and see the changes at the track over the next few years! His racing career so far is all thanks to his amazing pit crew, including his mom (Amy), brother (Parker), sister (Morgan), Aunt Carrie, his dad and many other family members, as well as his sponsors: Bart Harris State Farm, Auto Tech Specialist, Hickok Trucking, and J&L Trucking.
Even though we're all currently waiting on standby until racing begins again for the start of 2023, Dylan is passing time snowmobiling and working on the race cars. He plans to race an all-new car this year, continuing in the Front-Wheel Drive division. He thinks it will be much faster than his old car and a "prettier car." So, keep an eye out for Dylan Spencer's brand new, better-looking car in the FWD field as he tries for his second championship!
