Gross Construction Late Model Sportsman Tire Order Form and 2023 Tire Policy
If you're a Gross Construction Late Model Sportsman Racer planning to compete at Owosso Speedway in 2023, we want to hear from you. At the end of this article, you'll find a link to a form where you can fill out a tire sizing information sheet to let us know your requirements. All A Main Late Model Sportsman Features will offer a $1800 prize for the winner and $250 to start shows. This purse minimum will be in effect for every show in 2023, except for The Owosso Nationals, which are points races. The complete purses Iand point fund can be found on the Owosso Speedway website under the dropdown tab https://www.owossospeedway.com/payout/.
Owosso Speedway is implementing a managed Tire Purchase Bar Code Program App, which is the same program used during Florida Speedweeks, The Whelen Nascar Modified tour, the ASA series, Berlin Raceway, Kalamazoo Speedway, and other events. Owosso Gross Construction Late Model Sportsman drivers will be sold six tires at the beginning of the season, which will be inventoried under their name. A bar code will be stored in the software for each driver, and a barcode sticker will be generated for their car's A PILLAR. When they pull into tech, the car will be scanned. To pass tech, the tires must match the scanned tires in the driver's inventory. If they do, the app turns green. If they do not, the app turns red, and the driver will be returned to their pit stall to change their tires. They will not be allowed to use tires from other facilities. We will control the tire history from the time it is new until it is exhausted from the driver's inventory. After the driver's first six tire purchase, they will be sold two new tires per completed race event after the season opener. If a driver comes mid-season for the first time, they will be sold two new tires and two 30 lap scuff tires from the track's scuff tire inventory. This is the only way we can ensure a fair tire management program for all competitors.
The tire tech program will be very strict in its policing. It's the only way it works for everyone. We have made significant investments in the racing surface, the safety lighting, the overhead lighting, the purse, and the procedures. We want you to be confident that you are racing on a fair playing field, for the best purse in the United States as a weekly competitor, or occasional visitor. We have a strict no soak policy that is spelled out in our rules, and we will be teching tires weekly.
